Gosh! I made this block twice with two different red fabrics and both of them ran. On the positive side, I created the block two different ways.
| Set in seams used for this one - of course machine sewn. | I paper pieced the diamonds with the little edge strips, then placed them on top of a red square and appliquéd the edges of the white strips on the inside. Then I made a partial seam with the first strip and trimmed to get a straight edge. I continued around in a spiral fashion until it was complete and then hand appliquéd the center square. Much easier this way. |
